Pretty Brown Dancers are honoring those graduating from high school and college. We requested high school seniors and final year college students to submit their pictures and academic achievements.
Today, we are featuring Mikaila Ware, who is graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University. Check out her biography and beautiful graduation images captured by photographer Savannah Lee
“Mikaila Ware is a movement artist originally from Ellenwood, Georgia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University where she obtained her B.F.A in Dance with emphasis on performance, choreography, and dance theory. She studied with famed choreographers such as Alex Ketley, Jawole Willa Jo, Zollar, Gerri Houlihan, Ilana Goldman, Darrell Jones, Pearl Ubungen, just to name a few.
In addition, Mikaila performed at festivals like The American College Dance National Festival at the Kennedy Center and Boston Contemporary Dance Festival at Boston University. Her training ranges from Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Metropolitan Ballet Theater, and Price Performing Arts Center.
Furthermore, through multidisciplinary collaborations and community engagement projects, Mikaila continues to develop her skills in arts non-profits as a commitment to the equitable access to ideas and resources for the creative liberation of people.”
