
Debbie Allen will forever be a icon and legend in our lives. She was and still is a triple threat in the entertainment. Ms. Allen is an award winning actress, dancer, and singer. In the 1980s, she made black girls want to act, sing and dance, just by making leg warmers fashionable (laughs). Coincidentally, Ms. Allen inspired us to have confidence in showing our talents. Additionally, she was a major part of the reason why black boys and girls to attend college, especially HBCUs, by serving as a producer and director of the classic Tv show “A Different World“, a spin-off of “The Cosby Show”.
During talents, individuals often make the mistake of only watching the leads and soloists with jealousy and resentment. As a result, they lose the opportunity to learn how to get in those positions. In this video clip, Ms. Allen preaches to the students of dance school Debbie Allen Dance Academy having the mindset of being greater in their talents with integrity.
