Happy Birthday Mrs. Traci “Supa” Young-Byron!
You first appeared on my TV screen on an episode of the reality TV show “Bring It”. When your dancers, Young Contemporary Dance Theatre (YCDT) SupaStarz, hit the floor, my jaw dropped. Aside from watching an incredible group of girls performed their hearts and your own TV series “Step It Up!“, I saw a Coach who was assertive and strong-willed.
Critics said you were “cocky” and “arrogant”. What I saw was a black woman who was articulate, beautiful, and passionate about dance. Furthermore, you had CONFIDENCE, and instilled that quality along with leadership in young boys and girls…along with that damn bat (LOL).

You and your dancers were born and bred in Dade County, one of Miami, Fl.’s roughest neighborhood. HOWEVER, under your tutelage, those students graduated at the top of their classes both high school and college. Furthermore, many moved on to become apart of collegiate dance teams and signed with prestigious dance agencies. Consequently, they performed with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company and for successful music artists like Cardi B, Ciara and just to name a few.
You are turning 40. You have many accomplishments under your belt. I speak for every fan of you when I say…WE CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TURN 50 (Because God will keep you with us LONGER to see more GREATNESS!!!)
Enjoy your birthday and continue to bring us those beautiful, black dancers because they do matter!!!
