#GivingTuesday is an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and Holiday Season that began in November 27. Gallery Dance Collective in Washington, D.C. is asking for contributions for their Pre-professional company Muse Contemporary Dance Theatre.
Muse Contemporary Dance Theatre is within the residence of Gallery Dance Collective. As stated on their website, members participate in several community service events, attend regional workshops, and compete at the regional and national level. Additionally, they receive in-house master classes, monthly, from industry professionals.
Contributions will assist the company in
- Building a Pointe shoe fund for the dancers
- Attaining master teachers for in-house training
- Subsidizing costs of costumes for commissioned projects
- Producing a scholarship fund to assist dancers in payments to participate in summer dance intensives.
